ABOUT THE TREES

Rainbow Treecare Company (RTC) began in 1976. The early history of RTC cannot be separated from the history of Dutch elm disease in Minnesota. In1976, the city of Minneapolis removed 38,000 trees due to Dutch elm disease. In the same year RTC entered into the elm protection business. RTC built an organization on the premise that it makes better business sense to protect and preserve the trees than to remove them.

ABOUT PREDICTABLE RESULTS

In 1976 elm protection was a fledgling technology. Reliable injection techniques did not exist and the market was flooded with chemicals that did not work. RTC combined a solid understanding of tree biology with constant refinement of field application techniques. The result was that RTC lowered infection rates in treated elms to less than 1% over a three year period while untreated trees were experiencing an epidemic loss rate of 15% on an annual basis. By 1985, RTC had become the largest elm protection company in Minnesota.

ABOUT COMMITMENT TO CUSTOMER SERVICE

In 1988, RTC expanded the scope of its service and opened the doors to its tree care division. In addition to elm care, this division specializes in the accurate diagnosis and treatment of nearly every ailment that affects Minnesota trees. As we focused on our commitment to customer service our reputation for tree care expertise grew. Each and every client is a valued part of the future of RTC. Finally, in 1994, RTC successfully opened the doors to our pruning division and we became a full service tree care provider.

ABOUT ADVANCING THE TREE CARE INDUSTRY

In 1996, because of the needs expressed by arborists nationwide, Rainbow created a sister company, Rainbow Treecare Scientific Advancements (RTSA). RTSA is committed to advancing the science of tree care to benefit arborists and the tree care industry. RTSA engages in research and product development to provide and create products that perform with predictable results. RTSA provides complete and thorough information as well as training programs that teach others in our profession how to use, sell, and market our products. We continually search for and create innovative solutions that advance the science of tree care. We listen.
