ABOUT THE COMPANY
Rainbow Treecare Company (RTC) began in 1976.  The early history of RTC cannot be separated from the history of Dutch elm disease in Minnesota.  In 1976, the City of Minneapolis removed 38,000 trees due to Dutch elm disease.  In the same year RTC entered into the elm protection business.  RTC built an organization on the premise that it makes better business sense to protect and preserve the trees than to remove them.

ABOUT PREDICTABLE RESULTS

In 1976 elm protection was a fledgling technology.  Reliable injection techniques did not exist and the market was flooded with chemicals that did not work.  RTC combined a solid understanding of tree biology with constant refinement of field application techniques.  The result was that RTC lowered infection rates in treated elms to less than 1% over a three year period while untreated trees were experiencing an epidemic loss rate of 15% on an annual basis.  By 1985, RTC had become the largest tree protection company in Minnesota.

ABOUT COMMITMENT TO CUSTOMER SERVICE
In 1988, RTC expanded the scope of its service and opened the doors to its tree and shrub care division.  In addition to elm care, this division specializes in the accurate diagnosis and treatment of nearly every ailment that affects Minnesota trees and shrubs.  As we focused on our commitment to customer service, our reputation for tree and shrub care expertise grew.  Each and every client is a valued part of the future of RTC.  In 1994, RTC successfully opened the doors to our pruning division and we became a full service tree and shrub care provider.

In 1997, because of the needs expressed by arborists nationwide, RTC created a sister company, Rainbow Treecare Scientific Advancements (RTSA).  RTSA is committed to advancing the science of tree care to benefit arborists and the tree care industry through research and product development providing and creating products that perform with predictable results.  Now, in the new millennium, Rainbow Treecare Scientific Advancements is uniquely positioned to continue expanding its offerings to new segments.

ABOUT CONTINUING INNOVATION

In 2009, building on its solid and unique lineage of the residential, commercial, and utility markets - the Utility Division of Rainbow Treecare Scientific Advancements was developed.  Carrying forward the values, knowledge of tree care work, and product development of its sister companies, Utility Division of Rainbow Treecare Scientific Advancements is committed to continuing to look for ways to help utilities provide safe, reliable power by exploring new avenues that will help give better solutions for utilities, their customers, the environment, and the bottom line.
