Herbicides

While most of our work focuses on promoting plant health and caring for their needs, there are times where vegetative control is necessary. Converting the cover plants, eliminating competing vegetation, and controlling aggressive invasive species are common situations where herbicides are best utilized.

Herbicides are classified by their level of selectivity, mode of action, and method of application. Many herbicides act quickly as ‘knockdown’ treatments and others act systematically requiring time for absorption and translocation before seeing results. Depending on the type of vegetation you are looking to control, treatments may be applied by foliar application, soil drench, or painted directly on fresh-cut stumps.
